Leadership Writing AssignmentAssignment Description: As an aspiring leader, it is critical that you understand leadership issues through many lenses. For this assignment, you are asked to write a 7 to 9 page academic level paper on “What Is Leadership and Who You are as a Leader.” Please include 5 to 7 additional scholarly resources to support your positions. I want this assignment to be relevant to the student’s future, both personally and professionally. Through this assignment, you will learn more about yourself as well as be able to assess key characteristics of organizations and the attempt to understand any main issues either you or the organization face on a constant basis. In your research, you should look at other future thinking organizations that are continually changing and redefining the way they conduct business and deal with the culture. Your task is to research and answer the following areas:
1. Define leadership: from research as well as your opinion; 2. Explain who you are as a leader; 3. Examine and analyze the 3 surveys in Blackboard; 4. Imagine what your legacy would be; 5. Reflect on strengths and areas to develop; and 6. Justify your action plan to overcome obstacles, diversity and ethical issues. |

Assignment Reflection
This assignment required me to read two articles and complete a couple of assessments before beginning the written portion. I found the reading
to be very interesting and thought provoking when comparing and contrasting the two leadership articles to my experience. I enjoyed taking the assessments and quizzes on my leadership, communication, ethical and personality style. The assignment made me more aware of who I am as a leader and the legacy I would like to leave behind. My greatest takeaway from this assignment was being able to identify my areas of strength and development as leader as well as having a plan to overcome future obstacles as a leader.
